HI everyone and welcome to the Ilam School kapa haka blog. We have a large group of students this year with over 90 members in the performance group. It's great to see so many children giving kapa haka a go, I am very lucky to work with such a great group of Ilam students.
It is a big year this year with the Cultural festival at the end of August. We will need to be really focused during our kapa haka time to ensure we create a performance we are all proud of. That means being on time and sitting in the correct place in our lines ready for Matua Maaka and his helpers. To help, I have added to the right-hand side of the blog, a list of waiata and their lyrics. You can use these to practise your singing and the pronunciation of te reo. The list will grow as the year progresses.
