Dear Whānau / Parents / Caregivers

Thank you for supporting the Cultural Festival 2016, the following is information about the festival and your child’s involvement.

Your child is performing on Thursday September 1 between 6.45 pm and 9.00 pm at the Horncastle Arena (Jack Hinton Drive, Addington).

Tickets are $15 (adult) and $8 (child) and can be ordered by completing the Ticket Order form and handing it in to the school Office. These must be booked and paid for by Monday 27 June either by EFTPOS or online (details on order form). If you miss this opportunity, you can purchase tickets through Ticketek.

The Performers Entrance at Horncastle Arena is the side door on the left beside the ticket booths. Access is strictly for performers and their nominated helpers (those with official security bands), parents will not be allowed access beyond this point. We will meet outside the left hand entrance, weather permitting, no later than 6.00 pm. If the weather is wet we will meet inside, to the left of the main entrance. This will give us enough time to sort out any problems before we take our seats for the performance. At the end of the performance we use the same meeting place for parents/caregivers to collect the child/children. Please ensure you arrange for your child to be picked up after the show.

Performer seating will be in reserved seats pre-arranged with the school. Children must remain seated with their school group for the whole concert and may NOT leave their seats to visit family etc.

Performing children will be expected to stay for the whole concert out of respect for other performers.

If your child needs medication, please ensure I know and that the child brings their medication with them for both the rehearsal and performance. Children are NOT allowed to take food and drink into the Arena and may not buy anything from the foyer before or during their performance. Please ensure your child does not bring excess personal property ie: jewellery, watches, rings, toys or cell phones. If you have any lost property at the festival, please contact the Event Manager: 021745767.

Personal video cameras and photography is permitted so long as it does not impede the view of other audience members.

Festival image rights: Professional photos and recording taken during the Festival by the Festival may be used, printed, published, digitally transmitted or broadcast by Festival personnel by any means for the purposes of promotion, website, administration & facilitation of current or future Primary Schools Cultural Festivals. Video footage may also be screened on local, national or international television or visual medium. Individual images cannot be excluded from promotional videos or video footage compilations recorded, distributed and/or sold for each concert.

It is difficult to restrict filming and photography of performers so if you are concerned about this it is best to withdraw your child from the performance and enjoy it as a spectator.

The final point is that each school is required to help the organising committee by having an adult help during one of the performances eg selling programmes. If you are able to help, could you please let me know as soon as possible so I can get in contact with the organising committee. These types of festivals are largely volunteer and by offering to help we can keep ticket costs to a minimum.

We hope this information will help make your festival experience go smoothly and be a great success!
